We are looking for an experienced individual who is committed to ensuring the provision of effective, person-centered support to individuals with mental health needs.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent                Salary: £28,000 – £32,000                      Ref: CM/GBCH

Green Bridge Community Housing (GBCH) is a supported accommodation provider based in South Yorkshire and operating across the UK.

We empower vulnerable adults and young people to (re)integrate into mainstream society through the provision of safe and secure accommodation and tailored support.

The successful candidate will be leading our new mental health support project.

The Role:

The Care Manager will be responsible for delivering a high-quality service that supports our service users to gain independence and make healthy, informed life choices.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing an effective support framework, ensuring that service users views and needs are central to service provision, whilst effectively managing risk
  • Ensuring service users are treated with dignity and respect and have access to suitable development opportunities
  • Recruiting staff with appropriate knowledge, skills, experience
  • Building a cohesive and motivated team, ensuring a high standard of support provision and successful staff retention
  • Leadership and management of Support Workers, including supervision/appraisals, organising rotas, implementing training and development programme
  • Managing the referral and screening process
  • Reviewing policies and procedures, ensuring staff adherence to internal processes and that the service is compliant with relevant legislation
  • Liaising and ensuring effective relationship management with all external stakeholders
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead – responsible for all areas of risk mitigation, incident management, recording and reporting
  • Ensuring the service meets organisational goals, contributing to overall strategic growth and development of the service

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ management experience working with individuals with mental health needs in a health, social care, or support setting.
  • Working towards or has minimum Level 5 Leadership and Management, Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent
  • Demonstrable understanding of the issues that affect people with mental health needs and barriers to effective support and engagement
  • Experience of monitoring and evaluating service provision to ensure safe and effective delivery of support
  • Knowledge of and experience of working in compliance with all relevant legislation including Care Act 2014, Health and Social Care Act 2008
  • In-depth understanding of safeguarding and risk mitigation
  • Experience of effectively leading a team to deliver a high standard of care
  • Able to demonstrate effective communication, planning, and organisation skills
  • Experiencing of maintaining effective multi-agency relationships
  • Commitment to equity in service provision
  • Highly motivated and solution-focused practitioner able to work with patience, empathy, and professionalism in challenging environments
