Salary: c. £30,000, depending on experience

About the Role

Green Bridge Community Housing (GBCH) is seeking a proactive and solution-focused IT Engineer & Database Assistant to join our growing team.

This is a unique dual-role opportunity combining Airtable database development and internal IT support. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving operational efficiency through tailored database solutions while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our IT systems.

The role will involve approximately:

  • 60% Airtable development and database support
  • 40% IT systems and infrastructure support

Key Responsibilities

Airtable Development & Database Support

  • Design, develop, and maintain Airtable databases to support organisational processes.
  • Build scripts, automations, and integrations to improve workflow efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Airtable configuration and performance issues.
  • Work closely with staff to understand operational needs and deliver effective database solutions.
  • Produce user documentation and provide training and support for Airtable systems.

IT Systems & Infrastructure Support

  • Provide first-line IT support for hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Set up and maintain IT equipment including computers, printers, and phones.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and IT security processes.
  • Maintain backup systems and support disaster recovery procedures.
  • Monitor and support network infrastructure.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory and liaise with external vendors and suppliers.
  • Deliver staff training on IT usage, cybersecurity, and best practices.
  • Liaise with vendors and the Finance Team regarding procurement of IT equipment and services.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an IT support role.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Experience in database design, automation, and data management.
  • Sound understanding of ETL processes, planning, and implementation.
  • Proficiency in Airtable development, including scripts, automations, and APIs.
  • Experience using automation platforms such as Make.
  • Experience with Microsoft Admin tools including Entra, Exchange, Security, and Intune.
  • Solid networking knowledge across wired and wireless environments.
  • Experience with cloud storage solutions and IT troubleshooting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong communication and training skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and effectively.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience with network security.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud services such as SharePoint, Google Drive, and Microsoft 365.
  • Background in IT infrastructure support.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
