Green Bridge Community Housing offers supported living services to vulnerable adults. As our service includes supporting women with complex mental health needs, many of whom are survivors of abuse, require trauma-informed care, or for cultural/religious sensitivity reasons, this post is open to female applicants only. For this role, being female is considered a genuine occupational requirement to meet the emotional, psychological, and cultural needs of these individuals.

About the Role

We are currently looking for staff to join our mental health team. Our service operates 24/7, with shifts offered on a flexible basis to meet the needs of the service. While the primary hours of support are delivered between 9 AM and 10 PM, flexibility is essential.

We are primarily offering full-time and part-time contracts, with zero-hours contracts available for those seeking more flexibility.

These roles are ideal for:

  • Graduates or undergraduates with a Health & Social Care qualification or similar
  • Individuals looking to gain or apply their experience supporting those with mental health needs, experiences of domestic abuse, homelessness, or substance misuse

All employees will receive full training. As part of the recruitment process, you will need to pass an enhanced DBS check (provided by GBCH) and prove your eligibility to work in the UK.

An understanding of safeguarding requirements and duty of care when working with vulnerable individuals is imperative, as is the ability to build rapport and demonstrate high levels of empathy whilst maintaining professional boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

In line with our ethos of promoting independence, your role will focus on supporting individuals to develop self-sufficiency by:

  • Providing practical support, assistance, and advice to promote health and wellbeing
  • Creating and reviewing support plans and risk assessments
  • Supporting service users to develop independent living skills
  • Accompanying service users to appointments and meetings
  • Undertaking all administrative tasks related to support provision
  • Maintaining comprehensive records and documentation
  • Liaising with other teams regarding emergencies and complaints

Who We’re Looking For

Applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • Reliability, organisation, and a proactive approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across the organisation and with external agencies
  • An understanding of safeguarding and duty of care when working with vulnerable individuals
  • The ability to build rapport, show empathy, and maintain professional boundaries

Job Criteria

  • Driving licence and car(Essential)
  • Health & Social Care Level 3 qualification(Ideal but not required)
  • Experience: 2+ years in a Health & Social Care role or a relevant degree
  • Languages: Arabic, Farsi, Kurdish Sorani, Somali, Tigrinya are a bonus
