Salary: c. £38,000 p.a. depending on experience + benefits
Position: Full-time, 37.5 hours Monday – Friday (with the opportunity to work overtime hours)
Join Green Bridge Community Housing (GBCH) and make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable adults as a Maintenance Engineer based at our Leeds office. Purpose of role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the on-going maintenance, repair and safety of our properties.
What we are looking for:

Key responsibilities:
· Reactive Repairs: Responding to equipment breakdowns and performing essential repairs in areas such as plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
· Planned Maintenance & Inspections: Conducting routine inspections and carrying out scheduled maintenance work to prevent future issues.
· Health & Safety Compliance: Ensuring all work adheres to health and safety protocols and regulatory requirements, which may include specific checks related to gas safety, electrical systems, and asbestos management.
· Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities and materials used.
· Customer Interaction: Interacting with service users, staff, and contractors in a professional and empathetic manner, ensuring minimal disruption and excellent customer service.
· Multi-Trade Work: Utilising a variety of trade skills (eg painting, decorating, carpentry) to achieve a high “first-time fix” rate.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
· Technical Skills: Proven proficiency in a variety of trade skills.
· Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to identify faults and efficiency issues.
· Experience: Previous experience as a multi-trade maintenance technician in a customer-facing environment is often required, with experience in the social or supported housing sector being an advantage.
· Soft Skills: The ability to work independently or as part of a team, excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with vulnerable adults and a pro-active approach to all areas of the role.
· Qualifications: A relevant vocational qualification eg NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a core trade, along with a full UK driving licence as the position requires you to travel between properties.
