Due to the successful growth of Green Bridge Community Housing (GBCH), we are thrilled to announce the launch of our Green Bridge Community Hub this July, which will serve as our mental health headquarters. To support this exciting development, we are expanding our team with several Mental Health Recovery Workers. As a company we offer supported living services to vulnerable adults such as prison leavers, care leavers, clients with substance misuse, those fleeing domestic violence and victims of crimes.  We also offer emergency placements for individuals referred to us.

We are currently looking for people to join our mental health team and have a variety of shift patterns available, including evenings, nights and weekends.

Our roles will suit under-graduates, graduates and those with a qualification in health & social care looking to gain/use their experience supporting individuals with a range of health and wellbeing needs including mental health, domestic abuse, homelessness, and substance misuse.

Please note this is not a care worker role and does not involve intimate/personal care. A Sponsorship Visa is not available for this role.

 In line with our ethos of promoting independence, the purpose of your role will be to support individuals to support themselves independently by:

  • Providing practical support, assistance, and advice to vulnerable service users to promote health and wellbeing and achieve personalised goals.
  • Creating accurate support plan reviews and risks assessments.
  • Supporting service users to develop independent living skills.
  • Accompanying service users to appointments and meetings.
  • Undertaking all administration related to support provision.
  • Maintaining comprehensive records and documentation of support provision.
  • Liaising with other teams regarding emergencies and complaints.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate their ability to take responsibility, be reliable and organised.  They also need effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across the organisation and with external agencies.

An understanding of safeguarding requirements and duty of care when working with vulnerable individuals is imperative, as is the ability to build rapport and demonstrate high levels of empathy whilst maintaining professional boundaries.

Job Criteria:

  • Driving licence and car desirable
  • Education: Health & Social care qualification level 3 ideal
  • Experience: Ideally a graduate or 2 years’ experience in a health & social care field
  • Job Type: Permanent on site
  • Shifts: Various on a full and part time basis
  • Additional languages such Arabic, Farsi, Kurdish Sorani, Somali, Triginya are a bonus.
