Purpose of role:
Responsible for ensuring that people who use Green Bridge Community Housing services have their needs met in line with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014: Regulation 7.
Apply your management experience and expertise in the field of mental health services, within supported living set ups, to develop Green Bridge’s mental health provision.
Key tasks/objectives:
- Use your knowledge and skills to support vulnerable adults with complex needs, ensuring compliance with CQC standards, relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care and support to service users, demonstrating a compassionate approach that promotes dignity, choice, and independence for residents.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment, adhering to Health and Safety Regulations.
- Work with Support Workers to produce risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate risks.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of individual care plans for each service user, ensuring they are tailored to their specific needs and preferences.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and other agencies to coordinate care and support for service users.
- Be responsible for delivering best practice in social care whilst continually developing the service.
- Lead, develop and inspire a team comprising a Service Manager and Mental Health Support Workers.
- Ensure the mental wellbeing of the Mental Health team.
- Act as an advocate for service users, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are respected.
- Monitor expenditure and identify areas for cost savings without compromising on quality of care.
Person Specification:
The skills, knowledge and experience required in this role are:
- The Registered Manager must either hold an NVQ/QCF Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care or is working towards the qualification.
- The postholder must have a robust understanding of:
- The Health and Social Care Act 2008 and other relevant legislation.
- Have worked within a supported housing environment.
- Demonstrable management experience capable of leading and developing a growing team of support staff.
- Passionate and committed approach to the support of vulnerable adults with mental health conditions.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with external stakeholders, contributing to discussions effectively and in a positive manner.
- Ability to interpret and evaluate information and produce comprehensive support plans.
- Excellent communication skills, able to:
- Write to a professional standard.
- Write comprehensively and with clarity.
- Convey important information effectively, in person and via written correspondence.
- Demonstrate active listening skills.
- Understanding the importance of compliance and risk mitigation in providing support services to vulnerable individuals.
- Understanding the importance of effective quality assurance and the impact on service provision.
- Ability to implement policies and procedures, understand the importance of comprehensive internal processes, and contribute to their improvement and development.
Job Criteria:
- Driving licence and car: essential
- Education: A Level or equivalent
- Experience: Certified CQC Registered Manager with ideally 2 years’ experience in a mental health environment. Individuals working towards the qualification will be considered
